Where Tradition Began: The Family Story Behind Circle B Ranch
Behind every Circle B Ranch product is a story.
There are recipes that have been changed and perfected over the years, meals shared around crowded tables, and traditions passed from one generation to the next.
For our family, so much of that story begins in the kitchen.
Long before there was a Circle B Ranch, Italian family recipes and Sunday dinners were teaching Marina something important: food isn't simply something we eat. It's one of the ways we care for one another, gather together, and keep family traditions alive.
And two of our favorite products — Marina's Italian Style Tomato Sauce and Marina's Italian Style Meatballs — can be traced right back to those early days.
Growing Up in an Italian Family
Marina remembers the kitchen always being the heart of her home.
"The kitchen has always been the soul of my home, no matter what age I was or what house we were in."
Growing up in a large Italian family meant plenty of time gathered in the kitchen. Marina's Mom, Aunt Wanda, and Nana were often right in the middle of it all, transforming simple ingredients into meals for the entire family.
Sometimes, there were a few too many people gathered around.
Marina remembers the three women having to kick everyone out of the kitchen just so they could get something accomplished.
But somehow, Marina always managed to sneak back in.
She watched.
She learned.
And somewhere along the way, she fell in love with cooking.
Watching her Mom, Aunt Wanda, and Nana turn simple ingredients into delicious meals taught Marina about more than food. It showed her how a meal could bring an entire family together.
Those lessons would eventually become part of the foundation of Circle B Ranch.
Italian Family Recipes Passed Down Through Generations
When Marina and John married and started a family of their own, she carried those lessons into her own kitchen.
And Sundays became especially important.
Marina began making homemade Italian tomato sauce and meatballs using family recipes that had been passed down from Nana Rina.
But like many family recipes, they didn't remain exactly the same.
Over the years, Marina made them her own.
She experimented with new ingredients. She removed others. She adjusted flavors and refined the recipes over and over again.
And she had some very willing taste testers.
Her husband and children sampled each new version, offering their opinions while Marina headed back to the kitchen to make another adjustment.
Little by little, those treasured family recipes evolved.
Eventually, they became the recipes behind Marina's Italian Style Tomato Sauce and Marina's Italian Style Meatballs.
When Family Dinner Matters
As Marina and John's children grew, life became increasingly busy.
Their son and daughter were involved in sports that took the family across the country — and eventually around the world. Marina and John frequently found themselves heading in different directions with the kids.
But there was one tradition they worked hard to protect:
Family dinner.
Even when dinner had to be squeezed into the end of an incredibly busy day, sitting down together mattered.
That's where meatballs and homemade tomato sauce became a staple.
They were familiar. They were delicious. They were made with simple ingredients. And they gave Marina a way to put a meal on the table without spending hours in the kitchen when she'd rather be spending that time with her family.
Marina calls it their version of "fast food."
Not fast food from a drive-thru.
Instead, food that could help make a wholesome family dinner fast and easy to prepare.
From Our Family Table to Yours
Eventually, the recipes Marina had spent years preparing for her own family became something she could share with other families.
That's what makes these products so special to us.
They're not simply recipes developed for a business.
They existed before the business did.
They were served at Sunday dinners. They fed busy kids between practices, games, and travel. They were tested around our family table. And their roots reach back another generation to the women who first taught Marina how powerful a kitchen could be.
That's the kind of history you can't manufacture.
Food Is Part of Our Family Story
Every family has traditions.
Some are tied to holidays. Others involve places, activities, or celebrations.
Ours has always been intertwined with food.
We loved those traditions so much that eventually, we built a business around them.
When you bring Circle B Ranch into your kitchen, we hope you're getting more than something delicious to put on the table.
You're getting a little piece of our family's story.
A recipe influenced by generations before us.
A reminder that simple ingredients can create incredible food.
And, hopefully, something that makes it a little easier to gather the people you love around your own table.
Because after all these years, we still believe what Marina learned while sneaking back into her family's kitchen:
Some of the best family memories are made around food.
From our family to yours, thank you for allowing Circle B Ranch to be part of your table — and for continuing to support the traditions that started it all.
