Over the years, many customers have asked me about the recipes I post on the Circle B Ranch website.

Where do the recipes come from? How do I choose them? Why those particular recipes?

The answer is simple: every recipe has a story.

Family Traditions and Italian Heritage

Some of my favorite recipes are treasured family recipes that have been passed down through generations.

I am incredibly proud of my Italian heritage, and one of the best ways I know to honor my family is by sharing the recipes that helped shape my childhood. Many of these dishes were prepared by my mother, grandmother, and aunt, and they remind me of family gatherings centered around food, laughter, and tradition.

These recipes have stood the test of time, and I feel privileged to pass them along to others who enjoy gathering around the table with family and friends.

Inspiration from Cooking Shows

If you've ever spent time with me, you probably know that I love cooking shows.

Whenever I have the television on, I inevitably find myself watching cooking programs. Cooking has always been a passion of mine, and I enjoy learning new techniques, flavor combinations, and creative ways to prepare food.

Some of my favorite chefs include:

  • Bobby Flay – I admire his creativity and willingness to experiment with flavors and spices.
  • Ina Garten – Her recipes are approachable, simple, and consistently delicious.
  • Lidia Bastianich – Her focus on family, heritage, and traditional Italian cooking reminds me of growing up in an Italian household.

Many times, a recipe idea starts with something I see on a cooking show and then evolves into my own version in the kitchen.

Finding Recipes Everywhere

Great recipes can come from many places.

Sometimes inspiration comes from a magazine article. Other times it's something I discover online or hear about from a friend.

But before any recipe makes it onto the Circle B Ranch website, it goes through one very important step:

I make it myself.

I test every recipe in my own kitchen before sharing it. Some recipes are perfect exactly as written, while others need a few adjustments to suit my tastes or better complement our products.

Only after I've prepared, tasted, and approved a recipe do I share it with our customers.

What Makes a Recipe Worth Sharing?

When choosing recipes, I look for one thing above all else:

Easy.

I love recipes that are simple to prepare and don't require complicated ingredients or techniques. This is especially true when it comes to breads and baked desserts since baking has never been my strongest skill.

I want recipes that busy families can realistically make and enjoy together.

Showcasing Circle B Ranch Products

Another important factor is how well a recipe highlights our products.

At Circle B Ranch, we proudly raise heritage pork, and John and I enjoy serving our pork products to our own family. Because of that, I often look for recipes that showcase:

  • Heritage pork chops
  • Bacon
  • Sausage
  • Pork roasts
  • Homemade sauces

I also enjoy creating recipes that incorporate our signature products, including Marina's Italian Tomato Sauce, Marina's Cranberry Chutney, and Big John's BBQ Sauce.

By sharing these recipes, I hope customers discover just how versatile our products can be and how easily they can be incorporated into everyday meals.

More Than Just Recipes

For me, recipes are about more than food.

They represent family traditions, memories, creativity, and the joy of bringing people together around the table.

Whether a recipe comes from my Italian roots, a favorite television chef, a magazine clipping, or my own kitchen experiments, each one is chosen because I believe it's worth sharing.

Thank you for following along, trying our recipes, and allowing Circle B Ranch to be a small part of your family's meals and traditions. We appreciate every one of you and look forward to sharing many more delicious recipes in the years ahead.
